Potential affected communities groups have banded together to form the deCOALonize campaign to keep a coal industry out of Kenya. We maintain resources here at this website, and post updates, but we encourage you to follow and join us on social media.
Here, we aim to provide information to local communities, policy makers, academics, and civil society, on alternatives to coal and embracing clean energy in Kenya. This campaign was created by a coalition of environmental and social justice advocates concerned about the increasing interest in Kenya on coal power production and exploration.
www.decoalonize.org is an online resource site created by a group of environmental and social justice advocates concerned about the increasing interest in Kenya on coal power production and exploration. We have a shared vision of Kenya having a green economy powered by sustainable and clean renewable energy. The organisations and individuals making up the “deCOALonize” movement are from Kenya, South Africa, Australia, Europe, United States and many other regions worldwide. This website was developed to act as a source of information for communities, policy makers and civil society, on why coal is not a viable option for Kenya and other alternatives of embracing clean energy in Kenya.
